Opening the Vaults: Wonders of the 1893 World's Fair

The Field Museum in Chicago is preparing a new exhibit "Opening the Vaults: Wonders of the 1893 World's Fair" open from October 25, 2013 through September 7, 2014.

The Columbian Exposition was a wildly popular world’s fair that marked Chicago’s entrance on the global stage. It also marked the beginning of The Field Museum. Over 50,000 objects from the fair became part of the Museum’s founding collections.
